Before you leave Ellington: what to sort out first
Start with the order. Online ordering with us is open 24/7, so you can place it from home on our live downtown menu and set out once it is in. Check the live menu for current prices and stock. If you want to look around first, browse the aisles on our site or see our deals page.
Then check three things before you get in the car:
- A valid ID showing you are 21 or older, which state law requires for adult-use purchases.
- Cash or a debit card. We take cash and debit cards at both stores.
- Our number, in case a question comes up on the way: call us at 860-420-BUDS (2837).
Where the drive ends on Market Street
Our founder picked 306 Market St for its visibility where I-84 meets I-91, as the Hartford Business Journal reported on March 27, 2025. We are in the city's Downtown neighborhood, and parking at the store is free and on site. The store also has CTtransit bus access.
The drive time above assumes clear roads, so leave extra time at a busy hour.
If you are setting out from a friend's place in Vernon, our Vernon page has that drive, and the same goes for the Tolland trip and the trip from Manchester.
Sunday hours and what is on our shelves
On Sundays we open at 10 AM and close at 6 PM, so a Sunday order should leave room for the drive before closing.
We prioritize products from licensed Connecticut cultivators and processors, and we are fully licensed by the DCP. Our downtown store page has the rest of the store's details.
Crystal Lake and local history
The town was incorporated in 1786, a date the Secretary of the State's dates of establishment for Connecticut towns records. The Census Bureau estimates the town had 16,585 residents in 2024, on 34.1 square miles of land in the Capitol Planning Region.
The Nellie McKnight Museum at 70 Main Street is an 1812 home that shows family life in the town in the early 20th century, as the museum's CT Visit listing describes it.
Questions shoppers ask about buying from Ellington
Does Hi! People deliver here?
No. Our delivery page lists 11 towns served from the downtown store, and this town is not one of them, so plan on in-store pickup. Checkout on the live menu shows whether delivery reaches a given address, and our delivery page has the full town list.
How late can I pick up after work?
Monday to Thursday we are open 9 AM to 9 PM, and Friday runs 9 AM to 10 PM. The drive from the center of town takes about 27 minutes on clear roads, so leave yourself at least that long before closing, and more in heavy traffic.
