How long the drive takes
That 19-minute figure is an empty-road time, not rush hour, so leave extra room if you are driving at commute times.
When you pull in, we have free on-site parking, and the Valley Independent Sentinel reported in January 2025 that the store has 90 parking spaces.
Getting off Route 8 at exit 13A
Exit 13A is the ramp signed for Pershing Drive and Ansonia, and the store is just off the ramp.
Exit 13A is a northbound exit and a southbound entrance, so you get off heading north and get back on heading south for the drive home.
Older directions may give a different number. Pershing Drive was exit 16 on Route 8 before mileage-based renumbering. Whatever number a saved route shows, follow the signs for Pershing Drive. Connecticut DOT began mileage-based exit number signs on Route 8 on July 8, 2024, according to its construction advisory on the exit renumbering.
About Bridgeport
The city had an estimated 151,599 residents in 2024 on 16.1 square miles of land, and the Census Bureau places it in the Greater Bridgeport Planning Region. It was incorporated as a town in 1821.
Seaside Park is on Park Avenue, and the city's page for the park says Calvert Vaux and Frederick Law Olmsted laid out the 325-acre park after the Civil War.
Shopping the menu before you leave home
Start with the live Derby menu before you get in the car, because prices and stock change through the day and the menu is where they are current. Online ordering is open 24/7, so you can place an online order for in-store pickup from home and collect it at the counter.
If you would rather decide in person, the Bud Bar is a dedicated consultation area toward the back of the showroom where you sit down one on one with a budtender, and it needs no appointment. You can see and smell what is on display at the Bud Bar before you buy. The Hartford Business Journal reported in March 2025 that our store opened the state's first bud bar where customers can examine and smell products.
Hosts with iPads also help visitors browse the menu and order in the store. We take cash and debit cards, and credit cards cannot be used, so the on-site ATM is there if you need it.
Our state license number for this store is ACRE.0015686. For anything the menu does not answer, call us at 860-420-BUDS (2837), and the store's own page has our address and hours for setting directions. Our second store is in Hartford.
Delivery and the neighboring towns
Do you deliver to Bridgeport?
No, not today: our delivery page lists 14 towns served by our Derby store, and your city is not one of them. Stratford and Trumbull are both on that list, and so are Milford and Orange.
How does delivery work in those neighboring towns?
You place a scheduled order on the live menu, and checkout shows what is available for your address. The menu takes scheduled delivery orders rather than on-demand ones, and we take delivery payment at the door in cash or debit card. Only the adult who placed the order, 21 or older with matching ID, can accept the delivery.
