Fairfield, from Jennings Beach to Lake Mohegan
The town had about 65,300 residents in 2024 by the Census Bureau's estimate, on 29.9 square miles of land. English colonists established the town in 1639 (town history page).
Jennings Beach on South Benson Road is a large sandy beach with views of Long Island Sound and an access pier. The Fairfield Museum and History Center, at 370 Beach Road, includes the Sun Tavern from about 1780 and a Victorian Barn from 1888.
Birdcraft Museum at 314 Unquowa Road is a National Historic Landmark from 1914 beside a 6-acre sanctuary (CT Visit listing). The Lake Mohegan open space at 960 Morehouse Highway covers about 170 acres in the Mill River watershed (town open space page).
The drive, from Route 58 to exit 13A
- Take Route 58 to Route 15.
- Follow 15 until it meets 8, then head north on 8.
- Leave at exit 13A, the ramp signed for Pershing Drive and Ansonia.
- Pull in at the store, where we have free on-site parking.
Exit 13A is a northbound exit and southbound entrance, so on the trip home you get back on Route 8 heading south at the same interchange.
Older maps may still show exit 16. Pershing Drive was exit 16 on Route 8 before mileage based renumbering, which Connecticut DOT began on this highway on July 8, 2024 (CT DOT renumbering advisory).
Shortlist flower on the menu, then check it at the Bud Bar
We prioritize products from licensed Connecticut cultivators and processors. For what is in stock today, open the flower aisle of our menu.
Flower listings on our live menus show THC values, and almost all of them list terpenes too, so you can shortlist flower by its listed THC and terpenes before you get in the car.
Then check the shortlist in person. The Hartford Business Journal reported in March 2025 that our store opened the state's first bud bar where customers can examine and smell products. The Bud Bar is a dedicated consultation area where you sit down one on one with a budtender. It is toward the back of the showroom and needs no appointment, so bring your list and ask to see and smell what is on it before you buy.
Order ahead and pick up at Derby
Our online ordering is open 24/7, so the order can be put together the night before. Place it on the live menu, choose in-store pickup, and it waits at the counter.
We serve adults 21 and older with a valid ID, so bring yours for pickup. Our Derby store holds state adult-use retailer license ACRE.0015686.
For questions before you set out, call us at 860-420-BUDS (2837). Our second store is in Hartford, and the locations page has both.
Delivery and card questions for pickup orders
Can I get delivery instead of driving?
No. The town is not one of the 14 towns on our delivery page, so pickup at Derby is the way to shop with us from here. Stratford, Trumbull and Milford are on that list, and Bridgeport is not.
Can I pay with a credit card?
No. We take cash and debit cards, and credit cards cannot be used. The store has an on-site ATM if you need cash before you pay.
